Even more impressive is the fact that the CPU is watercooled, using a single 80mm radiator and screw-lock fittings. The radiator is mounted at the back of the case. The tubing is the Innovatek 500898 8mm/10mm type. It is flexible and easily routable - it has to be to fit in such tight confinements.

You can see the Laing DDC-series 12V DC pump mounted at the top of the chassis. It's pretty small and neat - ideally suited to use in the Invasion iX case.

The reservoir is held in a container at the front of the machine. It's got a laser-engraved plexi front which is also luminated, so you can see the water bubbling away. It's a pretty neat effect.

The front panel also has a small temperature readout. The main chassis has a white cold cathode mounted which provides a nice glow in low light.

Thoughts

We have to say that we do really like this case design and implementation of hardware. It's incredibly cool, and it's great to see a company taking a different approach to case design whilst using standard ATX components. The build quality is very good, although it's hard to really get to grips with the large amount of wiring that is required inside such a small space!

The system will be available on August 3rd direct from Invasion and will cost between €1900 and €3500, depending on the configuration you choose. It will also be used by system builders locally including, we suspect, Scan.

The case itself is pretty customisable - you can choose the kind of design you want on the outside if you want to, and you can of course choose the components inside. We look forward to seeing what PYPE does with this feature. This is a pretty neat system / chassis if you're looking for something different. If you want style without the hassle of modding your own, this could well be the one for you.
